What is the Digital Concierge 2Go?

Imagine putting Google, Yellow Pages and an interactive city guide into your mobile phone, then pack in hundreds of discounts for shopping and dining and then customize search results with maps and navigation according to your personal preferences.

What can I do with the Digital Concierge 2Go?

A whole host of content and services are included in the Digital Concierge 2Go. Here's a list of things you can do:

1. Show discounts coupons built into the Digital Concierge 2Go when shopping, dining or visiting attractions
2. Get your information without going online
3. Search for restaurant and shops of your choice
4. Search for your favorite food and shopping preferences by asking the phone to tell you .what.s around me.
5. Get the latest weather forecast
6. Receive up-to-the-minute currency conversion
7. Real time flight status you can check anywhere in the world
8. Read City guides from the coolest editors on the planet
9. One touch taxi booking and SMS booking service
10. Get the latest information on what to do and what to see
11. Find out what entertainment and art shows are playing
12. Local, regional and world news via RSS
13. Search for addresses and get maps
14. And if you are compelled you can go online and search via Yellow Pages (our improved search capability)
15. Most functions that deliver online content will provide the content in a way you can access it offline

How can I download Digital Concierge 2Go?

You have multiple options
1.You can visit www.digitalconcierge.com.sg and download to your computer or send the download via SMS to your phone.
2.You can download from any of our Kiosks located at key tourism information outlets and shopping centers
3.You can download from our WAPsite (key in www.dc2go.mobi into your phone browser)

 

  Downloading & Installation
  What do I need to install the Digital Concierge 2Go?
To install the Digital Concierge 2Go, you will need a compatible model of mobile phone, please check your mobile phone compatibility.

You can download the Digital Concierge 2Go through 2 channels.
1.

Via SMS download link. For SMS or over-the-air download, the Digital Concierge 2Go client will be delivered directly to your mobile device. Data (3G or GPRS) charges may apply during downloading. More info.

2.
Via PC. Download the Digital Concierge 2Go to your PC, followed by installation of the Digital Concierge 2Go Client to your mobile device through cable/PC Suite, bluetooth or memory card. For connection to your mobile device, please refer to your mobile device's manual guide for more details. Unless otherwise advised by your mobile device's manual guide, you only need the JAR file for installation.

How to install the Digital Concierge 2Go?

Go to www.digitalconcierge2go.com and sign up for an account.

Choose the method of downloading the Digital Concierge 2Go client. If you choose via SMS download link, the Digital Concierge 2Go client will be sent automatically to your mobile phone. If you do not receive any download link messages, it might be because you have not enabled your mobile device to receive Service/Push Messages. For detailed instructions on enabling service/push message, please refer to your mobile device user guide. Please also ensure that you can access internet on your mobile device before you start downloading.

Download the Digital Concierge 2Go application on your mobile phone.

Open the Digital Concierge 2Go application and start using!

If I download the Digital Concierge 2Go pilot to my mobile phone, will it take up a lot of memory space?
The mobile client is less than 1 megabyte in size.

Do I need data access on my mobile device to run the Digital Concierge 2Go? Is it independent of the mobile service providers?
The Digital Concierge 2Go client comes with preloaded information that you can use without having to connect to a network.

However, in order to access real time or online information, your mobile device will use a 3G or GPRS, or Wi-Fi (e.g. Wireless@SG) network to download data. For 3G and GPRS, data charges may apply. The Digital Concierge 2Go is independent of all mobile service providers. More Info.

Where else can I access the Digital Concierge 2Go pilot if I do not have a compatible mobile phone?
You can also access the Digital Concierge 2Go mobile website using your mobile phone's internet browser. Just type dc2go.mobi into your mobile phone's browser.

What is the difference between a browser version on mobile phone, an application on the mobile phone and a webpage version?
The application residing on the mobile phone provides enhanced user experience, which is easy to navigate. It also enables a richer package and delivery of content in the way it was meant to be viewed.

The mobile browser version is more text-based while the web version is rich in functionality and provides the primary means of registration and management of the user’s preferences and details, and will mirror the services and vibrancy that are being provided over the mobile.

Why the difference? How will that contribute to a better user experience?
Each platform has its benefits. However, the Mobile client version is preferred to the mobile browser version because the application allows the user to have a host of access in an offline mode and only needs to go online to get specific information, and immediately turning itself off after the transaction. This will have the effect of dramatically reducing 3G/GPRS costs for the user over an always on mobile browser version. However, the mobile browser version will allow users, who do not wish to download the mobile client, to also access the Digital Concierge 2Go services.

How much does it cost to use the Digital Concierge 2Go?
The Digital Concierge 2Go is free. However, 3G/GPRS access and costs may be incurred. We recommend that you check with the local mobile telecom service providers. Click here to find out more on the data charges.

How often is the information on the Digital Concierge 2Go updated?
The information is updated whenever you go online (for the web version) and whenever you click “yes” to download the latest information on the mobile client.

Can I still use the Digital Concierge 2Go to find out information on Singapore while I am overseas?
Yes, you can, as long as you are connected online.

What do I do if I am having problems/feedback accessing the Digital Concierge 2Go Pilot?
A frequently asked questions section is posted at the Digital Concierge 2Go website to provide you with a self-help mechanism. Feedback on the usage of the Digital Concierge 2Go will also be enabled via mobile surveys and at the Digital Concierge 2Go website. Alternatively, you can also go Contact Us to fill in your enquiries or feedback, and we will get back to you shortly.

Will you give my details to a third party?
Your details will not be revealed to a third party unless you have given us your permission.
